Welcome Mr. Whiskers!!!

Yes, we are completely nuts, but we have added a new addition to the Maier household. An extremely adorable fluff ball of a kitten who John has named Whiskers. He has completely fit in with our family immediately!!! He even lets Miss Isabelle pick him up all strange and I'm sure uncomfotable ways. Yesterday he even snuggled up with John for an afternoon snooze. Welcome Mr. Whiskers!!! :)

We need more frogs!!!!

A couple weeks ago we checked out the clearance sale at Sears and got a great deal on some decorative frogs for our numerous gardens. The top ones light up at night...they are super super cute!!! And the bottom one is a fountain with the frog spitting into the pool (pretty classy hey????) Mike has been very kind to allow me to indulge in my love of frogs....so if you have any to donate (hint...hint mom) just bring them on over!!! We will find a perfect spot for all fromgs amongst our beautiful flowers!! :)

Testing out the new camera

Here are some pics from my new camera which ACTUALLY takes the picture right when I hit the button. I love it!!! But I think John and Isabelle are sick of me chasing them around with a camera....oh well!! I'm the mama...it is my right! lol

Do you know where your fire extinguisher is?????

As we quickly learned during our Tennessee vacation...it is very important to have a fire extinguisher handy if you ever have a fire in your house. We also learned very quickly that you need to know how to operate it so you are prepared to use if necessary (unlike Shelly and I who stood there dumbfounded until Mike jumped in!!) We now have 2 extinguishers in our house and I have been shown how to use them...so I am prepared if ever presented with a grease fire again. I totally feel more safe now!!! :)

Cousin Love

To say that Madison and Trinity fell immediately in love with Mitchell would be an understatement!! By the end of our vacation Madison proposed to him using a very fashionable Hannah Montana ring! :) All the cousins got along very well and I know they are all excited to see each other again in a few months.

Wax Museum

One of the first attractions we took in during our vacation was the Hollywood Wax Museum. It was really fun since you could pose with all of the wax figurines. Mitchell was the most animated posing for these....I have tons more pics, but didn't want to post them all. They really cracked Shelly up...especially the Titantic shot of Mitchell!!

Vacation Galore!!!!

Here are just a few shots of our family vacation to Tennessee. We had a really great time spending time with my sister, Trinity and Madison, and crammed a lot of activities into the days we were there. We really had a lot of fun and are already talking about planning our return vacation for next summer. Many many more pictures to come!!! :)

Morning Glories Saga

So every year since we have lived in this house (4 years) Mike has religiously tried to plant Morning Glories in various pots in various parts of our yard. And year after year they never made it bigger then a couple inches before they died and we NEVER had any flowers. This year we even started the seeds inside during the Spring this year to see if that would help. Now normally...these are flowers that start in the Spring, get HUGE, and cover entire trelises for the entire summer. Well as you can see.....we did get flowers this year....in AUGUST....and they certainly aren't cover the whole trelis. But Mike is so proud....so I had to share a pic. :) Honey....here's to the most pathetic monring glories ever.....but they are still the prettiest ever!!

Baby Band

The other day, Isabelle went rummaging through the drawer with the pots and pans and left a few pan covers on the floor. John later discovered them and immediately exclaimed, "Look mama! These are just like cymbals!!!" He then started slamming them together and marching around the kitchen. Izzie then got annoyed so I had to dig up another set for her to play with. So for about 10 minutes we had 2 toddlers marching around the kitchen playing what they called 'music'. Did I mention this was around 8 in the morning???? The sleeping teenagers in our house were not amused one bit. I personally loved every 'musical' moment. :)

Blocks...not just for little kids!!!

So I caught Mitchell playing with the kids building blocks this morning. He was very intent on building a tower that reached the ceiling. He was also very intent on not letting the little kids near it until it was complete. Which was no easy feat since their favorite thing to do with the blocks is knock them all over and make a huge mess!!! Mitch's tower survived for about 5.6 seconds after it was completed. Enough time for me to snap a quick picture! :)
