Mr. Potato Head

John received a Mr. Potato Head for Christmas this year along with a bunch of different outfits. Trying to figure out how to get all of the pieces on Mr. Potato Head became one of the most entertaining parts of the afternoon. It was difficult for adults to do...not sure how my 2 year old is suppose to figure it out!! This is Snowman Mr. Potato Head and Firefighter Mr. Potato Head. Pirate Mr. Potato Head never made it together quite right to get his picture taken....oh well. At least we all had a few laughs over it! :)

Guitar Hero

Sam and Mitch spent part of the day playing Guitar Hero so of course I had to learn how to play this game that the kids were infatuated with. The Grandpa jumped in and starting learning as well. Needless to say...neither one of us is going on tour in a rock band anytime soon!!!! But it was fun watching us TRY to play the game anyway. :)

Maier Christmas!!!

The Maier house was full of excited kids on Christmas morning. Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and we had a huge breakfast before the festivities began. John and Isabelle had a ball opening presents....at one point John was just opening any present he could find...whether it was his or not. The kids received lots of toys, books, movies and even candy.

Does UPS send kids?????

Just kidding!! This was a cute picture of John and Izzie playing in a box that Mike brought home from work. OK....really John was playing in the box and we threw Izzie on top for a cute picture opportunity. Can you tell how thrilled John is????

Mother Nature HATES Wisconsin!!!

Well....here are some pictures of our recent snowstorm that occurred Thursday night into Friday. I believe we officially got 10 inches. I even went out there and plowed since Mike had to work all day yesterday. Can you imagine having to shovel this stuff???? We definitely will not have to worry about having snow for Christmas....in fact...does anyone out there need any??? You can have some of ours!!!

Collage ideas (for mom)

Here are the collages that I am getting of Isabelle. Both are 20 long by 10 wide. Mom...just pick out the pictures you want and let me know the largest size you would want and we can let Kendra run with it. She is awesome at creating collages. These she did entirely on her own with no input from me and I absolutely LOVE both of them.

Isabelle LeeAnne turns 1!!!!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!! We all love you a lot!! :) Yesterday her and her big brother John celebrated early by ripping the wall paper border off the wall in their bedroom. Mike walked in to shreds of wallpaper all over the floor and two small smiles and giggles from everyone!

Goodbye Abbie Foo Foo

On Monday Abbie was diagnosed with Glaucoma and the vet said that she had to have her eye removed. Well, we couldn't afford the cost of the surgery, so I found a woman to take her in, fix her up, and adopt her out. I was going to take Abbie to her on Friday. Well, Abbie must have been much more sick then the vet thought...because she passed away last night. It was a very sad night in our house...but at least I know that she isn't in any more pain and is happy again. Rest in peace, Abbie. I love you!

Baby Girls Birthday Bash

Today was Isabelle LeeAnne's first birthday party. She got all decked out in her cute polka dot dress, dug into her little cake, played with her new toys, including baby dolls and a horsey to ride on, ran around a little and now is crashed from pure exhaustion. (cuddling her bunny of course!) I am now depressed that I no longer have a baby girl....but she is the cutest darn....big little girl there ever was!!! :)

Is it snowing yet????

So one of John's favorite things to do is dig through the shoes...find a pair and try them on. This time he found Sam's winter boots and was proudly walking around in them. What a fashion statement hey???

Train 'em young!!!

Isabelle has started to take an interest in John's talking vacuum. When I was vacuuming this weekend, she was trying to push it around and follow me as I made my way though the house. She even struck a pose with a big smile when mommy brought the camera out. Now....we just have to find her a PINK talking vacuum!! Hmmmmm......my new mission! :)

She survived!!!!

I am pleased to announce that Isabelle's lovey (aka Bunny) survived her first bath. She was covered with chocolate milk, snot, spit, baby food and other things that gave her a nice rainbow coloring. But she ended up coming out bright white again!! What the heck was I thinking giving her a WHITE stuffed animal?????

Cuddle Bug

So John had (and still has) is bibs as his comfort item, and we weren't sure if Isabelle was going to pick up on the habit. Until we noticed her cuddling her bunny when we was in bed one night...and every night when she goes down she goes right for it. And gets SUPER excited whenever she sees her bunny. So Ms. Bunny is Ms. Isabelle's 'lovey'. Already the ears have been gummed and it has been used as a snot rag....I'm sure Ms. Bunny will see many trips to the washing machine! :)

Sesame Street Live

Kelly managed to get us front row tickets to Sesame Street Live, so John, myself, Kelly, Jayden, Jackie and Abbie all headed to the show this afternoon. It was a lot of fun and John was mesmorized for most of the show. Although towards the end, he started to dance around and have a lot of fun. It was especially cool when some of the characters came off the stage and interacted with the audience! my first front row concert....a kids show...I am such a mom!! :)

Happy Halloween!!!

Well...this was the first year we actually ventured out with the little ones and went trick or treating. First we went to go and show our costumes to Grandma and Grandpa Maier. As you can see....John was the Incredible Hulk and Isabelle was a little white kitty. From there we went up our block and hit about 6 houses. And then we headed home. We had exactly 2 trick or treaters come to our house....very disappointing since I had bought 4 bags of candy!!!

Loud Chain Saws

I forgot to include this picture in the original post about the sad tree removal. John was not very fond of the loud chain saws...so the only way he would stay outside was if I held my hands over his ears while they were running. But once they were off he was happy to run around and help clean up all the branches. :)

Watch as the tree comes down.....

Here is a video of the tree actually coming down. Myself, Cheryl and Mitch were across the street while Sam, John and Izzie watched from the front living room window (safely in the house). It came down exactly where Mike and Bill wanted it to.

After the tree came down....

Here's what the tree looked like after it came down. Bill and Cheryl took the bigger pieces to use for fire wood for next years camping season. We even got a picture of the last leaf that was attached to the tree after it was put in the wood pile.

Preparing the tree to come down.....

Here are some pics of Mike and Bill preparing the tree to come down by cutting down some of the lower branches. As soon as Mike tried to use the pole saw...the chain fell off so they decided to just go for the entire thing and go towards Bill's driveway.

You've Got Mail!!! :)

Apparently Miss Isabelle decided she needed to check her email and see if any of her Peeps (as John would say) has sent her anything. She did notice that Mama had been slacking at her blog so she got on me for that....hence the new entry! We hope Grandma and Grandpa are having a nice visit in Tennessee with Shelly and the girls! :)

Pumpkins anyone???

After the apple orchard we were off to the pumpkin farm where we got to see all sorts of animals and ride a train around the farm. It took a lot of work to get Isabelle to pose by the pumpkins but I think we got a pretty good shot. Hope we didn't wear out grandma and grandpa too much...it was a long day...but another one to add to the record books. :) 3 years in a row and counting!!
