Happy Halloween from Madison!!!

Happy Halloween from the Maiers in Mad Town!!! Trick or Treating in tonight!! Looks like it is going to be cold out though...so it may be a quick trip for John and Isabelle. But hey, we went to Walmart yesterday and they handed out baskets for all the kids and we got to go trick or treating throughout the store. No costumes, but my kiddos charmed everyone with their 'trick or treats' and their 'thank yous'. :)

Playing Kitchen

Last year we spent money on a nice plastic kitchen for the kids. A few months ago we bought a shopping cart (Izzie fell in love with the one at Shelly's) and some plastic food to fill the cart up. Well instead of playing with the food In the kitchen the other day the kids turned the end table in the living room into their 'kitchen'. They were there for at least 30 minutes mixing up food and pretending to eat. They brought me a plastic piece of pizza or a plastic chicken leg to try every few minutes. It really was fun to watch...they were in a little world of their own. :)

New Windows

So Mike and I decided to invest some new windows for our house. We couldn't afford to do all the windows at one time (we have a total of almost 20 windows in the house). So we decided to do the 6 biggest ones. The first pictures are the pictures of the windows that were in our kitchen. We couldn't open them and as you can see...we got a lot of condensation on them during the colder months. We also replaced the front living room windows and the slider between the back living room and the porch. That old slider let in so much cold air in the winter...we have been putting plastic over it the last few years. The installers were at our house for over 4 hours and they did an AWESOME job!! We are very happy with the result! :)

Oh No!!! What did I do?????

OK....I finally came to the realization that I needed to cut mty daughter's bangs when she kept getting boogers stuck in them (GROSS!!) I really didn't want to do it. Mike held her tight and I half closed my eyes and cut away. Took less then 20 seconds....and I have to say she does look much better. I have the tossle of her bangs secured in a plastic bag...I tried to get a picture of the bag....it didn't turn out....oh well! So, she may not be able to do her impression of a rooster anymore, but she is still the most adorable baby girl ever! :)

Mini Ice Cream Cones

For dessert in Milwaukee, Grandpa busted out the mini ice cream cones and mint chocolate ice cream. It was the PERFECT size for the kids, and a even better size for me since I am trying to still lose a little weight. The kids really enjoyed them and it made for MORE fun pictures! :)

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa

The kids and I headed to Milwaukee again this weekend to spend some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa. John helped Grandpa mow the front lawn, and we baked chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. Grandma had a lot of fun watching Isabelle eat her dinner with a fork and spoon (food was EVERYWHERE!!) and Grandpa even got down on the floor to play with the kiddos...what a TROOPER!! John really did not want to leave and as we drove off he said "Man, I am really going to miss those guys!!" Melted my heart. :)

OMG we got TP'd!!!!!

We woke up on Sunday morning to find our front yard decorated with TP. Now of course we don't really have any trees in our front yard...but that did not deter our creative pranksters. They covered all bushes and plants and even left a nice heart made with tampons displayed on our front lawn. (They even covered the toddler basketball hoop!! lol) I must give them an A for creativity. Mitch was instantly called and was sent over to clean up the mess. He says he knows who pulled the prank and retaliation plans are in the works. Damn teenagers!!!! lol
